Hiro Nakajima

Aspina Americas CTO & VP Officer

Hiro Nakajima's journey within ASPINA America is quite remarkable. Starting as an electro-mechanical engineer in the motor division nearly three decades ago shows a strong foundation in technical expertise. His experience working on various projects in both the US and Japan likely provided him with a broad perspective and invaluable insights into different markets and cultures.

Transitioning to the role of Managing Director of the Medical Business Unit demonstrates not only his adaptability but also his leadership skills and strategic vision. Managing a business unit requires a deep understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and customer needs, all of which Nakajima seems to have mastered.

His current position as the CTO and Senior Vice President, working with the business development group to support frontier technologies, indicates a shift towards innovation and forward-thinking strategies. This role likely involves staying abreast of emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for growth and development, and guiding the company towards embracing new trends and advancements.

Wendy Charles, PhD

Consultant and Professor

Dr. Wendy Charles is a results-oriented digital health and research leader with 20+ years of success identifying and prioritizing strategic research needs and scoping/executing key digital research programs aligned with business objectives. Spearheading emerging technology product introductions and compliance infrastructure for healthcare and life sciences, she is known for her unique ability to approach digital health opportunities from scientific, technology, compliance, and business development perspectives. Wendy has a PhD in Clinical Science with a specialty in Health Information Technology. She serves as an independent consultant and faculty member, where she teaches the business of digital health at the University of Colorado Denver and health informatics at the University of Denver.

Noel Gillespie

Partner, Procopio

Noel advises start up and emerging growth clients on strategic patent portfolio development and implementation to protect their technology and achieve their business objectives, the most important objectives being market share and premium pricing. He has extensive experience working with digital health, health information technology, and medical devices companies; telecommunications companies; semiconductor; and software and Internet companies.

Shawnnah Monterrey

Founder & CEO of BeanStock Ventures

Shawnnah Monterrey currently is the Founder and CEO of BeanStock Ventures, a medical device product development company and an FDA accredited 510(k) review organization and medical device venture studio. Shawnnah Monterrey founded BeanStock Ventures, in 2018 following nearly a 20-year career as a technical leader responsible for developing strategies and leading complex global product development programs and functional management of software and software quality assurance departments for both startup and mature organizations with significant emphasis on the development of medical instruments, life science, diagnostics, clinical applications.  Shawnnah’s tenure includes technical leadership roles at Illumina, Covidien (Medtronic), Invetech (Danaher) and Carl Zeiss Meditec. She currently is a member of NuFund and the National Institute of Health (NIH) Commercialization Readiness Pilot Special Emphasis Review Panel.  Shawnnah holds an executive MBA from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from USCD.  She has received numerous awards and nominations since she founded BeanStock Ventures.

Joseph Park

Venture Capital at Legendary Ventures

I'm an angel investor and deal scout for many different funds including The Hustle Fund. I work with VCs, PE, FO, IB, HNWI. My experience ranges from mentoring startup founders, c-suite positions at multiple companies, building businesses and entrepreneurism. Throughout my years in the space, I've created several companies and had an exit in the telecom space. I currently advise five companies, two being startups as an advisory board member. My COO position is with GCN, Global Capital Network, an investor and founders conference out of Newport Beach, CA, where founders pitch to over 150+ investors during a 1 day event.

Director, Venture Partner BeanStock Ventures

Kaye Villaflores has over 20 years of experience in program management and professional services within the life sciences and technology industry. Kaye has supported founders and product development in the life sciences industry, primarily medical devices fast-tracked to FDA approval – ranging from wearables with mobile apps, to genomic sequencing for personalized oncology and IVF treatment, to surgical instruments – all with integrated AI and cybersecurity features. Additionally, she has experience in R&D and iterative prototyping to bring to market groundbreaking, innovative solutions in software and hardware.
