Khai Pham, MD, PhD

Combining Medicine (MD) and Artificial Intelligence (PhD), Dr. Khai Pham has been in the field of AI for 30 years. Few have tried to work on unifying AI approaches across the different systems, including Machine Learning, Reasoning AI, and Distributed Multi-Agent AI. He is a leading expert in Distributed AI and focuses today on developing the next-gen Generative Distributed Reasoning AI (GDR-AI). Applied to drug R&D, GDR-AI generates the most sophisticated Digital Human Cell Clones based on gene expression data allowing Human Cell Safety/Efficacy Simulations before any preclinical testing.
Dr. Pham is also a founding board member of KWAAI.ai, a non-profit AI Research and Development Lab Democratizing AI. He mainly contributes to the AI Fundamentals. He was the founder & CEO of DataMind, a leading AI company in the Silicon Valley based on the first generation of his Distributed AI. Later renamed RightPoint, it was acquired by E.piphany (Nasdaq:EPNY) for US$637 Million.

Dr. Pham has published several scientific papers, received international grants, taught AI at LISH-CNRS, received an entrepreneur award from BP, was EIR/Mentor at CONNECT, talked as keynote in conferences and guest lecturer for Master Program.

A Healthcare and AI entrepreneur, investor, and advisor having helped raise over $100M in funding and founded multiple startups looking to change society to help us all live a better life both today and tomorrow. Ash is a technologist and data scientist deeply rooted in the application of big data to health and its intersection with design, and has worked with organizations in the United States, China, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, India and Japan. He has worked with leading venture capital firms such as Sandbox Industries, Intel Capital, Khosla Ventures, Oak HC/FT, and many others to help realize a better tomorrow.
Ash has founded multiple companies including WithMe Health, excelera.health, Lumiata, and DeepAffects. He is an active investor and advisor to both healthcare and AI companies: CareLoop, LoopHealth, PeerWell, MyoKardia, Ellipsis Health, NuBiome and ExtraaEdge. Beyond, he is also active speaker at conferences such as Health Datapalooza, Health 2.0, AMA, MIT AI, Nvidia GTC and others.
Before focusing on healthcare, over the last 25 years, he has researched, built and applied AI technologies with leading institutions and organizations, including the UCLA AI and Robotics Lab, MIT’s AI Lab, the MIT Media Lab, the US Navy and NASA. Ash graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in both Computer Science and Mathematics, has published numerous papers, and has received patents in real-time unstructured semantic analysis.
Stefano Ghirlanda, PhD

Stefano is an internationally recognized research scientist with 25 years of experience developing computational models of intelligence and sociocultural processes. He is passionate about solving complex problems by leveraging his diverse skills: advanced mathematics, cognitive science, machine learning, software development, and data science. Stefano has over 70 scientific publications in top-tier venues, cited over 5,600 times and including two books for Princeton University Press applying AI, neural networks, and stochastic processes to understanding intelligence. He has managed projects with budgets up to $2.5 MM and 20 employees.
