Julie Ducharme, DBA

Investor | President of Lead and Empower Her She Talks

Dr. Julie Ducharme is one of the most multi-talented individuals you could meet. Her resume would span ten pages if everything she has accomplished were listed. It’s as if she has lived three lifetimes in less than fifty years. Dr. Ducharme’s first love was sports, and she pursued college athletics despite being told she wasn’t smart enough for higher education. She persevered, earning three degrees: a BA in Communication with a specialization in public speaking, an MBA with a specialization in Marketing, and a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) with a specialization in Leadership. After playing volleyball and basketball overseas, Dr. Ducharme returned to become a head volleyball coach at a local college, which led to her becoming a professor at the young age of 23. As an overachiever, within seven years, she became the chair of three programs, then a dean overseeing 20 business colleges, before retiring to start her own technical vocational college, where she has served as president for the last decade at Synergy Learning Institute.

Dr. Ducharme has authored several bestsellers, including “Authentically You: Empower Your Way to Success.” While advancing her academic career, she also built multiple businesses. Her first venture, Julie’s Party People, an event company, has successfully served San Diego for 23 years and continues to thrive. Dr. Ducharme is an inventor as well in creation mode with new sports products she is bringing to the market.Not stopping there, Dr. Ducharme founded JD Consulting, a company that has evolved over the past 20 years into a digital design agency, course design firm, commercial production company, . She once said, “Once I started building businesses, I was hooked. I am an entrepreneur through and through.” She then established a sports Equipment company Taylor Elite sports and co-founded Your Authentic Genius, a PR company focused on branding women, with Shelby Jo-Long. Additionally, Dr. Ducharme has been developing Lead and Empower Her She Talks for the past seven years. This initiative has grown from a conference into a magazine, a membership organization, and a movement. She is passionate about this work and dedicated to changing the paradigm for women, expressing her commitment to this cause for the rest of her life.

Rohan Brown

Founder + Host of Pitch Mayhem

Originating from the refined town of Hartford, CT, Rohan Brown embodies the essence of a La Salle University alumnus and former collegiate athlete. Equipped with a B.A. in Mass Communication and an M.B.A. in Finance, he gracefully transitioned from a two-year tenure at SEI Investments into the intricate realm of technology.

While scaling his own business ventures, Brown has tactfully engaged in esteemed startup competitions, including but not limited to the MIT Sports Analytics Conference, Silicon Dragon @ the Nasdaq Center, and a notable appearance on the Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch, where he secured victory twice. Silvia Mah PhD, MBA

Dr. Silvia Mah is General Partner at Stella Impact Capital, a seed-stage venture fund, investing in diverse women founders building startups at the intersection of deep tech and impact and, as a redemptive entrepreneur and investor, serves as the Director of Innovation at Biola University. Focused on “Impact with Integrity”, Dr. Mah has invested in over 130 startups with 6 exits and 1 IPO. Dr. Mah is the founder & Chairwoman of Stella Labs, an accelerator for women-owned businesses; founding member of Stella Angels, a female angel investment group; President of Stella Foundation, a national conSTELLAtion of organizations and leaders walking alongside womxn-led businesses from startup to sale and the funders who champion them; and Investment Committee member of Next Wave Impact, a social impact venture fund.

Mark Thever

Mark Thever is an Engagement Manager and Project Leader at Acquis Consulting Group, a management consulting firm based in New York. Mark’s area of practice is in growth and operating model strategy, strategy activation, and transformation management. Mark is the founder and former CEO and Chairman of The Lift Beverage Company, a CPG company specializing in infused functional beverages with targeted effects. Lift was founded in 2020 and acquired by Harmony Craft Beverages in 2023. Mark earned his BS, MS and MBA from UC San Diego.

Jeffery Adler

Jeffery is part serial entrepreneur, part civic and community leader, part mentor to university students and founder entrepreneurs - at the cross-roads of consumer facing and digital tech.  He is the Founder and CEO of Dlush, a socially conscious, youth-focused retail chain specializing in made-to-order hand-crafted beverages, which expanded to 14 outlets across San Diego, Hollywood, Kuwait, Dubai, and Qatar.

Vivian Sobral Rhoads, MBA

Vivian Sobral Rhoads is a business performance consultant and leadership coach renowned for delivering substantial growth in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry for over 20 years. Through her consulting and coaching practice, Vivian partners with forward-looking, purpose-driven organizations to bridge the gap between their vision and desired results. As the former President of the Women’s Health Business Unit - Uqora & Equelle at Pharmavite, Vivian led a 45-person cross-functional team spanning operations, supply chain, finance, design, and science. In this role, she successfully led the transition of the business following acquisition, delivering revenue and profitability results ahead of expectations and being recognized as a Best Place to Work in SoCal.

In her previous role as Divisional Vice President of Innovation at Pharmavite, the makers of Nature Made and MegaFood vitamins, Vivian spearheaded the organizational transformation that turned the company into the recognized innovation and growth leader in the Vitamins and Supplements category. Under her leadership, the company moved from 8 to 56 launches a year and realized a tenfold increase in sales. The company was recognized by Fast Company as Best Workplace for Innovators.

Vivian conducted due diligence for acquisition of Bonafide Health by Pharmavite and Kevita by PepsiCo, and for strategic partnerships such as Brightseed AI. She has also held global strategy, venturing, and innovation roles at PepsiCo, Naked Juice, Frito-Lay, and Wrigley/Mars, launching hundreds of products across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. Additionally, she founded and led Verge Strategy, a consulting firm where she worked with Fortune 100 companies and startups alike to drive growth through innovation over a five-year span.

After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2002, he gained legal experience before transitioning to finance in 2005, joining LPL Financial. Over the years, he held key roles in compliance, risk management, and M&A advisory. In2019, he co-founded Affinity Financial Advisors, where he doubled the firm's assets under management within a year. Ian later founded IKT Holdings and partnered with Meritage Partners in 2024 to provide M&A and investment banking services.
